Victory University, this year, has decided to have quite a lot of fun and has planned many entertaining events before the year ends.

Benefit Concert

Victory University is conducting the 2nd Annual Toys for Tots Benefit Concert on Friday, December 6, 2013 in partnership with Local24, CW30, Sonic Restaurants, and the Memphis Redbirds.  The special guests for the event are Joyce Peterson and Cameron Harper from ABC Local24 and CW30.

Talking about the event, WATN/WLMT-TV Vice President and General Manager, Ardyth Diercks said, “We are overjoyed to unveil this special initiative. Local 24 and CW 30 are dedicated to serving our community and 'Local Cares' is a further extension of our commitment. There is no better program to launch 'Local Cares' than 'Toys for Tots.'  For years the US Marine Corps Reserve has been collecting donations and has distributed more than 469 million toys to over 216 million less fortunate children.  'Local Cares' is honored to be the official media outlet and we look forward to helping brighten the holidays of children here in the Mid South.”

The highlight of the concert is going to be the performance by the Season 8 American Idol Alexis Grace. Her performance lineup includes her own numbers, some top list songs, and some Christmas songs since Christmas would be just round the corner by then.

The concert will take place at Virgil L. Iles Auditorium, Victory University campus.

Open House!

Before the concert, the Human Resource Department at Victory University would have an Open House event on Thursday, November 20, 2013. Since the University is now located in the Executive suite, the Office of Human Resources of the University invites public to visit and explore the new offices.

The event will include a site visit, pie treat, registration for training workshops that will be conducted in December, 2013 and January next year, medical camp providing flu shots and B-12 shots for $25 and $20 respectively.

The invitation posted on the University's Facebook page describes that “The Shot Nurse is an Immunization and Wellness Service dedicated to the well being of mid-southerners in the Memphis & Tri-state area. Our team of nurses provides convenient wellness services that prevent disease and improve one's quality of life. Our goal is to provide nursing services to the community and companies who occasionally need a nurse.
