“In the fall of 1941 the Reverend Thomas McKinney, a recent graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary, established an evening Bible study class in Memphis, Tennessee. The response to the class was so encouraging that a group of Christian men began investigating the potential of establishing a permanent institution that would provide an opportunity for the study of the Bible and Bible-related subjects.”
This is the story of how the Victory University (VU) started out to become one of the unique educational institutions of our time with an open arm to embrace the modern values with respect for heritage and strong roots of traditional values.

The traditionally-modern University aims to inculcate faith, wisdom, and knowledge through education to students for them to have the right perspective of the current society, to live and navigate within the society, and to have the right knowledge that can be applied to the society.

Apart from following the Christian theology, Victory University prepares its students to compete with the society’s brightest minds. While appreciating the heritage, students are also encouraged to seek wisdom and remain open to sciences.

Pledge of Victory University

“Our pledge to every student is to provide strong Christian values, sound educational leadership, and fiscal responsibility.”

The University makes it evident from its pledge that an important aim for them is to develop the students with necessary skills to become well-rounded personalities with core values to live the life in its form and truth and responsibility towards the current society.

Core Values of Victory University

The visions soon translated into some core values of this kin, upon which is Victory University based. Following are some of them:

Valuing faith and learning in the arts and sciences

Victory seeks excellence in the higher education sector of the United States by uniting the liberal arts and science education with authentic faith and redemptive actions.

It strives to inculcate knowledge, love, and truth to its students for them to excel in any vocation they choose to pursue or to face any challenge, they may encounter, in life.

Valuing diversity, unity, and maturity

The location of this academy gives it a great opportunity to embrace modernism with the background of core Christian values. The University strongly believes in ‘unity in diversity’. Thus, it appreciates the positive influence of people from various cultural backgrounds and generations.

Valuing wisdom, service, and Christ-like leadership

Another set of values that form the core theme of this entity are idealistic and creative leadership, continuous learning, and responsible service. VU encourages its students to do voluntary service and internships. It develops partnerships between the college and the external community including businesses, professions, churches, schools, and other organizations.

This noble organization makes every effort to work together as a community and to enable people in applying their knowledge gained through such educational interactions for the welfare of the society and for its service.

It truly provides “An Education That Works”.
